About The Position

The Chem-mill Operator processes forged parts using chemical and acid-etch methods. In addition, the Chem-mill Operator samples chemical baths and makes corrections, neutralizes, and builds bath prior to milling to assure conformance to process specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six months of hands-on training and experience.
  • Current on all health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints.
  • Ability to use inspection tools, gauges, and Process Instructions.
  • Knowledge of equipment, processes, and chemicals commonly used.
  • Must be able tolocate, utilize, and understand all related MSDS’s and spill measures.
  • Must have knowledge of spill prevention and clean-up procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Chemical processing of forged parts,maintainingqualityand working within specifications.
  • Visually inspects parts for core material and other contaminants.
  • Measures specific areas on parts using dimensional measuring devices todetermineamountof material to be removed.
  • Takes samples, makes corrections, and maintains the required chemical levels in the Chemical Milling tanks, including maintenance of the inspection log.
  • Kolene forged parts,maintainingquality and working within specifications.
  • Operation and Inspection of equipment such as Overhead Cranes, DI water system. Keep logs of all inspections.
  • Work within the company and state regulations regarding safety and environmental laws.
  • Other tasks as assigned
