About The Position

Arbor Glen of Lake Elmo is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our new large Assisted Living/Memory Care culinary team! This Ebenezer position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. Role will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Lake Elmo, MN. This part-time culinary services position includes; 64 hours every two weeks, 10 hour shifts. Role will transition into a float Chef. Every other weekend Sat/Sunday and holiday rotation. New Early Wage Access! Arbor Glen is located blocks from downtown Lake Elmo Minnesota, conveniently north of Hwy 94 and in between the cities of North St. Paul and Stillwater. As one of our newer senior living communities it features 84 units between the independent, assisted living and memory care apartments. Delivering great customer service is our top priority and is created by building passionate and skilled care teams who get to know their residents as if they were family.

Requirements

  • Approved Food Sanitation Safety Course and Certification (must obtain within first 90-days)
  • Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
  • Must have good problem solving and time leadership skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational/technical training/education/degree
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Cooking experience in a similar environment
  • Scratch cooking experience

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes
  • Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards
  • Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents
  • Set up line service
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use
  • Assists with special events
  • Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed
