About The Position

The Chef Tournant at Beijing Noodle No.9 is responsible for assisting the Senior Chef Tournant and Chef de Cuisine in managing the daily operations of the kitchen. This role involves overseeing food quality, staff management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Chef Tournant will also take charge in the absence of senior chefs, ensuring a high standard of culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of cooking experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Culinary school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience operating in a similar role for a minimum of 1 year.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
• ServSafe Certified.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Basic/intermediate math skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience within the 5-star framework of deluxe hotels or reputable free-standing restaurants.
• Knowledge of international cuisine and pastry trends.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Sr. Chef Tournant and Chef de Cuisine in daily operations.
• Assume responsibilities in the absence of Chef de Cuisine and Senior Chef Tournant.
• Manage staff schedules and station assignments.
• Order and receive products, preparing prep lists and instructions for the team.
• Quality check products during all stages of preparation.
• Conduct regular internal health and safety inspections.
• Manage daily food cost and spend.
• Ensure quality food product and presentations.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and HACCP standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in culinary work areas.
• Teach and develop culinary team members as needed.
• Support a caring work environment and hold team members accountable.
• Work with General Manager and front of house staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Minimize waste and spoilage by monitoring occupancy forecasts.
