About The Position

Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a Chef Manager to join the culinary team at Carroll Lutheran Village, a large upscale continuing care retirement community located in Westminster, Maryland. This is an entry level management role with the opportunity to grow your career. The Chef Manager will report to the Executive Chef and assist in kitchen operations across various levels of care, ensuring high-quality food service and a smooth dining experience. No late nights with typical shift being 11:30am - 7:30pm, with every other weekend coverage.

Requirements

• a strong production culinary background.
• the ability to develop trust and build strong client relationships while meeting the expectation of the client as well as Sodexo.
• experience supervising a culinary team and exceptional human resource and supervisory/management skillset.
• strong communication skills.
• a hands-on, innovative leadership approach to management.
• a passion for a high-level customer service and relationship oriented.
• the ability to work independently and make sound business decisions within company guidelines.
• the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• knowledge of compliance in food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
• Minimum Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
• Minimum Management Experience - 1 year

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead kitchen staff in meal preparation and service.
• Train and develop cooks to maintain excellence in food quality and presentation.
• Create staff schedules to optimize kitchen operations.
• Manage ordering and inventory to ensure efficient food production.
• Oversee approximately 10 employees per shift.
• Ensure proper cash management and oversee the closing of the café.
