Chef/ Director needed for School food service program in the Edison, NJ area. Monday through Friday, full time day shift, 7 to 8 hours daily. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, and is creative with both presentation and new menu ideas within the guidelines of the NSLP. Able to thrive in a fast pace environment. Must obtain proper documentation to work in schools. Willing to work an occasional catering on a week night and weekend. Strong culinary experience is required. Prior food service management experience is ideal. Prepare all catering events for school. Some travel may be involved. Excellent time and people management skills needed Oversee staffing needs. Report to Area Supervisor on a daily basis. Proficient in using various forms of technology, namely Google and Microsoft products and point of sale systems. ServSafe® Manager Certificate Ensure that all safety and food handling procedures are being followed Able to lift 50lbs.
