About The Position

Chelsea Hospitality Group is seeking a dedicated Chef de Cuisine. The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the kitchen at The Morris Proper. This role is a true operator and culture driver—someone who can run service at a high level while developing people, maintaining standards, and pushing creativity forward. This position works directly under the Culinary Director and is a key leadership role designed to allow for growth, mentorship, and long-term development. Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and execution at the highest level
  • Manage and develop the culinary team with a focus on education, mentorship, and growth
  • Maintain strong systems around cleanliness, organization, and food safety
  • Execute menus with precision while contributing to seasonal development and refinement
  • Uphold financial responsibility including food cost, ordering, and waste management
  • Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Lead with heart, kindness, and accountability
  • Create an environment where young cooks are trained, supported, and developed into future leaders
  • Be present, engaged, and visible during service
  • Foster a culture of respect, urgency, and pride in the work
  • Passion for local sourcing and relationships with farms and purveyors
  • Commitment to seasonality and thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking

  • Bring energy and excitement to programming beyond traditional formats
