About The Position

To support our growth, we're actively seeking a Chef de Cuisine to join our Bon Appetit team! This pivotal role is responsible for defining and elevating the culinary landscape of the café, meticulously overseeing all aspects of food quality, driving innovation, and curating an unparalleled dining experience. On a daily basis, you will lead and inspire the kitchen team, ensuring the efficient and timely preparation of consistently high-quality dishes, and upholding an impeccably safe and sanitary working environment. Collaborating closely with the Executive Chef, you will strategically oversee all facets of food preparation, plating, and presentation. You will also manage inventory, meticulously order supplies, and ensure unwavering compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations to uphold the highest standards of food quality. Your leadership will directly drive culinary excellence, significantly elevate the café experience, and contribute to the overall success of the Food program. Requirements

  • Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program or equivalent extensive professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven professional kitchen leadership experience in a similar role, ideally within high-volume, quality-driven food service establishments.
  • Passion for culinary excellence and exceptional hospitality.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of inspiring and effectively leading a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in computer and technical skills, with a strong working knowledge of Google Suite tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • ServSafe Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to champion and enhance a robust culture of Food and Workplace Safety.
  • Managing in a Union Environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Champion rigorous workplace and food safety standards, including meticulous allergen management.
  • Strategically design, manage, and take full ownership of the overall guest experience, extending beyond food offerings.
  • Ensure meticulous adherence to all menu specifications, production/prep guidelines, opening/closing checklists, and comprehensive responsibility guides.
  • Craft well-balanced meals that nourish and inspire users throughout their day.
  • Cultivate and uphold an expectation of genuinely friendly, engaging, and personalized hospitality.
  • Lead, mentor, and foster the professional development of kitchen team members.
  • Oversee and guarantee that all products and ingredients are procured in strict adherence to Food Program purchasing standards, emphasizing our unwavering commitment to sustainability.
  • Ensure timely and accurate adherence to all critical deadlines for payroll, service delivery, accounts receivables, human resources, and all other directives from our partners and senior management.
