About The Position

The position involves overseeing all day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring that food standards are met and guest satisfaction is prioritized. The role requires the ability to work cohesively with the line staff and execute various cooking methods efficiently. Responsibilities include managing kitchen expenses, maintaining quality product standards, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. The candidate will also be expected to innovate cuisine to reflect industry trends and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.

Requirements

  • Relevant culinary qualification and previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a four or five-star property desired.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Extensive knowledge of restaurant theme and direction.
  • Ability to work all stations on the line.
  • Food handling certification.
  • Knowledge of food cost controls.
  • Flexibility to work days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all day-to-day kitchen operations.
  • Execute as a member of the line staff when needed.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by meeting food standards.
  • Address guest concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assist in managing kitchen expenses to maximize profitability.
  • Possess above average knife skills and proficiency in cooking techniques.
  • Conduct routine safety/sanitation inspections.
  • Ensure proper labeling and dating for food storage.
  • Maintain open communication with other departments.
  • Innovate cuisine to reflect industry trends.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
  • Report equipment problems and maintenance issues.
  • Attend scheduled employee meetings and provide suggestions for improvement.
