About The Position

Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our team at Martin Luther Care Center. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. The culinary position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Bloomington, MN. This full-time culinary services position includes; 80 hours per two weeks with day/evening/night shifts and every other weekend. Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus, is located in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. Managed by Ebenezer, we offer 137 units between our Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, and Transitional Care. We have an outstanding team of tenured staff. The only thing missing is YOU! Requirements

• ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
• Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
• Good problem solving and time leadership skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

• Vocational/technical training/education/degree
• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Cooking experience in a similar environment
• Scratch cooking experience

Responsibilities

• Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes
• Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards
• Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents
• Set up line service
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use
• Assists with special events
• Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff
