About The Position

The Chef Manager position at Personal Touch Food Service involves delivering professional food and service in a courteous environment while utilizing current food trends. The role requires participation in producing quality food/menu products, achieving strong financial results, and fostering a proactive, team-oriented environment throughout the organization. The Chef Manager will supervise various kitchen staff and make routine decisions related to food production, catering, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Culinary Degree or Bachelor's degree in food service management, food & nutrition, business management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in institutional/commercial food operations with increasing supervisory responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cooking and food preparation.
  • Ability to perform basic math at a high school graduate level.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in institutional equipment and fiscal management.
  • Effective marketing and presentation skills.
  • General knowledge of nutrition and human relations.

Responsibilities

  • Determine operational needs and service levels to meet customer satisfaction.
  • Develop effective menus to meet operational needs and account for leftover foods.
  • Produce and/or supervise the daily production of all food items.
  • Cross-train staff on operational procedures, health and safety issues, and sanitation.
  • Hire and manage staff, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and evaluation.
  • Assist in budget development and monitor costs for fiscal control.
  • Order food, supplies, and equipment to meet operational goals while practicing fiscal responsibility.
  • Plan logistics for food transport to various service points or venues.
  • Manage cash controls and prepare necessary reports for administration.
  • Monitor and supervise operations to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Pursue self-improvement through advanced education and experience in the foodservice industry.
