About The Position

Produce with consistency high-quality products and operate the production room in a safe, efficient manner for both personnel and products.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent.
  • Active & valid WI cheesemaker license.
  • Operational knowledge of cheesemaking.
  • Cheese Manufacturing Experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to lead a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to follow cheese recipes.
  • Ability to read charts, settings, gauges, and thermometers.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • CIP and cleaning methods for facility.

Responsibilities

  • Make sure milk is at the correct temperature.
  • Maintain settings on pasteurizer and separator and maintain charts.
  • Add ingredients to the vats.
  • Maintain efficiency and meet production schedules by effective supervision and utilization of resources.
  • Monitor policies, procedures, protocols, good manufacturing practices, and safety rules and regulations are followed by all employees.
  • Know when to cut the vat.
  • Heel time.
  • Cook proper temperature.
  • Stir out time.
  • Pre down.
  • Pump-over
  • Keep proper eye on body cheese.
  • Oversees all shifts, until vats are empty.
  • Identify and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Observes and evaluates performance of workers to ensure conformance to manufacturing requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and/or Operations Manager.
