About The Position

Leprino, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Cheese Slurry (P2) Operator to join our team located in Roswell, NM. Leprino Foods is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of premium dairy nutrition ingredients. Our customers and business partners span the globe and include many of the world's largest food companies, restaurant chains and distributors.   The Slurry (P2) Operator operates the P2 equipment in a safe and effective manner; maintaining a clean environment and adhering to all the GMP’s, SOP’s, and Critical Control Points pertaining to Food Safety and USDA regulations.   The Slurry (P2) Operator must be able to perform basic mathematical functions.  The Slurry (P2) Operator must be able to communicate well between all departments and different areas within those departments such as Whey, Warehouse, Cheese Noltec area, and Cheese Mixers area. Must be able to make computer adjustments to adjust temperature, pumps, etc to meet product specifications and parameters. Have the ability to know how to enable the cleaning CIP process and mix the right amount of chemicals to effectively clean equipment.     If you like to work in a fast-paced environment this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for. Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions safely.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7-day operation.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy

  • Able to read, write, and speak the English language
  • Able to read, write, and perform intermediate mathematical calculations

  • This position will be exposed to ambient temperatures and may include  a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-60 pounds
  • Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing up stairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
  • Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is higher in ambient temperature and humid
  • Ability to work safely around chemicals.
  • Candidate must possess good communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Hook up for product. Physically make all needed connections. Inspect for any leaks.
  • Records product temperature, pH, addition rates, ingredients, and other parameters and input this information into the computer.
  • Perform correct procedures as necessary for legal pasteurization. Maintain legal pasteurization records.
  • Performs filter changes to maintain a safe product flow through the pipes and secure a safe and high-quality product.
  • Set parameters at the beginning of the shift to make sure the product has the right temperature, pH level and addition rate.
  • Make sure all equipment is working properly. Monitor computer screen to ensure proper operation of all pumps and equipment.
  • Check can fills to ensure the correct amount of product is added throughout the run.
  • Change gaskets and clamps. Ensure the proper installation of these important machine components.
  • Inspect Magnets. Ensure magnets are free from any extraneous that may fall in the product. Clean and replace magnets into proper area.
  • Calibrate and check powder can fill.
  • Montitor Readco mixer: inspect auger, properly and safely close and hook up for product.
  • Changes pipes and elbows to start the CIP process, making sure all pipes are connected to the right end to avoid product and chemical mixture.
  • Properly clean and sanitize all equipment as required by company procedures, maintain good housekeeping in area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Forepersons and Supervisors.
