We are looking for: - an associate's degree or 6 months of related experience - ability to work in a fast-paced environment What is the work? Store Lead Operations / Training: - May serve as backup to Department Manager and typically works opposite shift to Manager - May help prepare department work schedules - Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws - Assists with inventory control; loads, unloads, and moves product - Trains Partners; directs work; addresses complaints; resolves issues; builds / follows up on production plans and their execution - Assists in all technical areas, as needed - Performs Representative / Specialist duties frequently - May oversee a specific area of the business: Cheese Shop - Assists with inventory control, including planning portion of Fresh Production Planner (FPP); follows up on FPP inventory functions; ensures Perpetual Adjustment Walk (PAW) walks are complete - Assists with ordering and event order management (EOMs) - Assists with training on new systems, tools, processes, and product roll-outs; follows up with Partners as needed to reinforce or retrain Customer Service / Sales: - Provides / coaches on superior customer service - Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person - Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections - Uses suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge and experience to meet customer needs and build department sales - Merchandises products effectively Food Safety: - Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality - Complies with department / Store operating procedures - Cleans / sanitizes sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment What is your background? - Minimum age 18 (mandatory) - Associate's degree (AA), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or - 6+ months of related experience / training, or a combination of equivalent education / training - Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Department Lead? - Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment - Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g., safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, production planners, procedure manuals) - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence - Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Partners - Ability to apply common sense / understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form - Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Can you... - Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks - Work with Customers, staying attentive to their needs - Constantly reach at waist, grasp - Frequently stand, walk, stoop - Occasionally reach overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, stair climb, pivot, twist, push / pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements - Occasionally be exposed to wet, cold, hot conditions, loud noise - Demonstrate the ability to lift 55 lbs, and manage in excess of 65 lbs
