Responsibilities

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return.
  • Assist department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.
  • Monitor and control all established quality assurance standards.
  • Work closely with the Deli/Baker Merchandising team and Deli/Bakery department.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and make product suggestions.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
  • Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review 'sell by' dates.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Understand the store's layout and assist customers in locating products.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
  • Reinforce safety programs and comply with safety procedures.
  • Practice preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report safety risks or illegal activities to store management.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
