About The Position

At Leprino Foods, the Cheese Maintenance Technician role offers a starting compensation of $36.21 per hour, with a $0.75 cents differential pay for 2nd & 3rd shifts (6PM - 5:59AM). This position is responsible for the fabrication, modification, installation, and repair of plant equipment and buildings according to Leprino specifications and standards. Key duties include performing preventative maintenance, promptly responding to equipment breakdowns, assisting in shift coverage, conducting welding repairs, maintaining a safe work environment, and fulfilling MEP requirements. The role involves regular interaction with Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, Group Leaders, other production and support group supervisors, plant management, employees, customers, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of GMPs.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions of the position.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions.
  • High School level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a maintenance setting involving electronics, instrumentation, refrigeration, electrical, and general mechanical.
  • Proficient written and spoken English.
  • Basic computational skills required.
  • Simple math reasoning required.
  • Must complete required Security Attendant trainings within 6 months of starting the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing system software (SAP and MES) is preferred, but not required.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates initiative in recognizing and accomplishing needed tasks for the department office.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for fabrication or modification of equipment to Leprino specs and standards.
  • Responsible for the installation of new or used equipment.
  • Responsible for repairs of building and all plant equipment.
  • Responsible for plant preventative maintenance.
  • Responsible to promptly respond to any equipment break downs or downtime when applicable.
  • Responsible to assist in shift coverage when applicable.
  • Responsible for welding repairs to plant equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Responsible to fulfill MEP requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as required by Maintenance Manager, Supervisor or Group Leader.
