About The Position

The Cheese Intake Unloader position at MWC involves testing all products that come through the bays, verifying manifests, samples, and tags per truck, and maintaining logs while communicating any irregularities to the Team Leader. The role is essential in ensuring the quality and safety of cheese production at a state-of-the-art facility in St. Johns, MI, which is a joint venture between Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), and Select Milk Producers Inc.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with lab regarding tankers that have passed testing and which trucks to CIP.
  • Verify incoming wash tags are completed correctly and within time limits.
  • Record wet load time, date, location, and initials on the back of the wash tag.
  • Communicate for silo selection or CIP order.
  • Open manway vent.
  • CIP trucks; enter tanker #, connect hoses, clean manway, outlets, caps.
  • Fill out wash tags with seal numbers, time, date, operator initials.
  • Remove and clean milk caps before CIP.
  • Connect bays for line flush, CIP.
  • Connect raw silos for receiving.
  • Collect raw products, MCRS inventory daily in the morning.
  • CIP raw silos, including hand cleaning door, gasket, and sample spigot.
  • Give breaks if needed.
  • Communicate truck information.
  • Operate and maintain CIP concentrations.
  • Flush and CIP cream receiving lines.
  • Flush and CIP bay lines.
  • Record information from silo and line CIPs.
  • Maintain Charm antibiotic certification as an Industry Analyst.
  • Follow all antibiotic testing procedures when working in the lab.
  • Follow and complete work on the environmental cleaning log stored in the intake lab.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensure that all seals are collected and stored correctly.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor, including covering for other employees.
  • Ensure all tankers are flushed and completely emptied before CIP.
  • Know what quota is and how to reach it each day.
  • Foam clean and scrub all bays and unloading pipes if needed.
  • Know what must be done before a tanker is unloaded.
  • Pick up seals and garbage outside bays on the driveway.
  • Make sure receiving bays are clean.
  • Utilize GPS processes, driving zero losses, and uphold the culture of MWC non-negotiables.
  • Comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
  • Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates.
