About The Position

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School is seeking an Assistant Cheerleading Coach for the Winter Season of the 2025-2026 school year. The position is part of the Athletics & Activities department and is aimed at supporting the cheerleading program at the school. The role requires a commitment to the development of student-athletes and the promotion of school spirit through cheerleading activities.

Requirements

• NJ Instructional Certification.
• Experience as a Cheerleading Coach and player is preferred.
• Completion of Principles of Coaching Course.
• Current CPR/AED certification preferred but must be willing to obtain.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in coaching cheerleading at the high school level.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices.
• Support the development of cheerleading skills among team members.
• Promote teamwork and sportsmanship among athletes.
• Help organize and participate in cheerleading events and competitions.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and events.
