The cashier provides fast and friendly service to customers, assists them with questions and requests, operates a cash register, and performs related duties. This role includes packaging products, working with drive-up and/or carry-out, and replenishing products as needed.

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible.
Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading/unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions.
Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service.
Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Operates cash register accurately, scans products, and processes transactions.
Places merchandise in bags or boxes and assists courtesy personnel as needed.
Answers customer questions and concerns and follows up with appropriate personnel.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding sales of tobacco, liquor, and lottery tickets.
Stocks, faces, rotates merchandise, cleans shelves, and knows the location of merchandise.
Maintains a clean register area and ensures adequate supplies are available.
Compares cash register totals with currency to verify balances.
Maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines.

Must be able to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
Ability to deal with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
