About The Position

Epic Piping has an exciting opportunity available for a Checker in their Engineering department. Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED; preferred
Experience: 3 years of experience in Pipe fabrication
Computer Skills: Outlook, Excel, and Work. AutoCAD is preferred.
Certification/Licenses: None specifically required
Other Requirements: Familiarity with codes and standards of ASTM, ASME, and PFI, familiarity with various metallurgies, and a basic understanding of non-destructive examination methods, heat treatments, paint, and welding procedures.

Nice To Haves

AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

Be familiar with client project scope and specifications.
Check pipe spool drawings used for fabrication by shop against client drawings, scope, and specifications for accuracy and manufacturability, mark-up errors, and re-check corrections made by drafter before being released to shop for fabrication.
Familiar with and utilize department standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Understand shop methods used in the fabrication of pipe spools.
