About The Position

We are looking for a talented Chassis Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Chesapeake, VA. $5000 Sign on Bonus! In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work. Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products. Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor. Responsibilities To be successful in this role the following is preferred: Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Technician (Preferred). Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution. Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with chassis products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred) Qualifications Advanced proficiency in chassis electrical system Strong competency in service documentation Demonstrated capability to manage varying workloads and job types efficiently - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing. - A current valid license is required for this role - Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience - This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
