HATCI is seeking a Chassis Suspension Engineering Intern for Summer 2026! The intern will benchmark Air Suspension applications for future consideration in BoF trucks and SUVs, understand performance, packaging, software integration, and manufacturing limitations for Air Suspension Systems. The role involves collaborating to develop an Air Suspension proposal for a BoF architecture and understanding vehicle architecture complexity impacts. Additionally, the intern will conduct research and development activities to identify new materials and manufacturing processes that can be utilized to improve project outcomes. The intern will support and interface with other engineering and design functions to review part/system performance and regulatory requirements, assess field claims, customer feedback, and recommend engineering improvements. The intern will also study and interpret regulations and performance requirements, develop overall vehicle requirements for Air Suspension applications on BoF vehicles, and help define manufacturing requirements for future programs.

  • Benchmark Air Suspension applications for future consideration in BoF trucks and SUVs.
  • Understand performance, packaging, software integration and manufacturing limitations for Air Suspension System.
  • Collaborate to develop an Air Suspension proposal for a BoF architecture.
  • Conduct research and development activities to identify new materials and manufacturing processes.

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Strong analytical skills and engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics, material science, fluid mechanics, mechanical design, and manufacturing.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to understand manufacturing constraints and design parts to meet internal & customer design, cost and weight targets.
  • Ability to interface with other Chassis business units for vehicle development integration.
  • Knowledge and passion for mid-size and full-size truck segment.
  • Passionate engineer who wants to help develop future BoF vehicles.
  • Desire to learn new skills to improve engineering capabilities.
  • Open attitude and team player.
  • Familiarity with MS Office to prepare reports/spreadsheets.
  • Basic CAD and 3D design experience.
  • Self-motivated drive to learn more, do more, achieve more.
  • Ability to interface with other Chassis business units (e.g. brakes, steering, software) for vehicle development integration is desired.
