Chassis Repair - Maintenance Technicians are charged with repairing chassis, containers, and trailers. Repair & Replacement work includes but is not limited to, containers, lights, tires, landing legs, brakes and framework. Duties And Responsibilities: Chassis lighting, wiring repair including dome lights, brake lights, taillights, Replacing brakes and brake drums Tire replacement Repair/replace landing leg and framework Repair and install suspension parts and pneumatic and hydraulic system parts Performs welding and fabrication when required Modifying, constructing and repairing frames, metal bodies and trailers floors Troubleshooting electrical system and ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) Air Brake system repair and replacement Yearly federal inspections of chassis per DOT requirements Operate appropriate powered industrial equipment as required. Major/Minor structural chassis repairs Keeps maintenance and repair records in accordance with company procedures. Complete all appropriate paperwork in a timely and legible manner. Specifically, candidates must have experience replacing brakes/drums/tires, air lines lighting/wiring, and bumpers. Most of their time will be taken up repairing brakes on the chassis/trailer making sure it is up to proper standards Perform systematic preventive maintenance that incorporates industry best practices.
