About The Position

Develop detailed software test specifications and design verification plans for vehicle control systems and features Support new development of MiL/SiL/HiL based software validation from in-vehicle validation Develop automations within our requirement and DVP&R tools and/or using Python for consistent, robust, release-based testing Perform functional validation using Model-in-the-Loop (MiL), Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) environments Collaborate closely with multiple HiL teams to execute validation plans and troubleshoot issues Analyze results for compliance to requirements Investigate and triage software bug reports from the field and other validation teams Deep-dive into high priority software bugs and develop action plans for preventing recurrence Lead expansion of software test plans for complete coverage to requirements (fault insertion, negative-testing, etc.) Established and active employee resource groups

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, or related degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in software validation, software systems engineering, or embedded controls systems development
  • Experience developing and executing test plans
  • Strong systems-engineering minded thinking
  • Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAN communication and databases
  • Excellent communication, project management, and people skills
  • Experience working with Agile/SAFE structure

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience developing software requirements and/or software test cases
  • Experience with MiL/SiL/HiL simulation and testing
  • Familiarity with Vector tools (CANalyzer / CANape / CANoe), ecu.test, Matlab Simulink
  • Familiarity with ISO-26262
  • Experience using Python for automation scripting
  • Familiarity with Ford embedded software requirements
  • Experience with steering control systems
  • Experience with OBD regulations
