This job researches and analyzes billing and charging errors/edits and identifies, documents and recommends solutions to the root cause of errors/issues. Trains in all Revenue Integrity software, the company's patient accounting system and all applicable billing systems. Participates in meetings related to Revenue Integrity and provides written communication to all applicable stakeholders in order to ensure billing compliance and revenue optimization and makes recommendations to improve revenue processes, maximize efficiency, and serve internal and external customers. Manages special projects as they relate to edit resolution and revenue cycle enhancement and stays current on billing and charging regulations defined by governmental agencies. Requirements

  • Education Required - High School diploma or equivalent OR additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications
  • Work Experience Required - 8 years healthcare or relevant experience including hospital, clinic, medical office, business services, revenue cycle, insurance industry, information technology and/or consulting.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout required job processes.
  • Strong analytical and operational problem solving skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize and develop operational improvement plans in coordination with Internal Consultants.
  • Advanced judgment and decision making skills.
  • Ability to resolve issues at lowest level and understand when to escalate or change priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple work areas and assignments under fast paced and changing conditions to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field
  • Preferred - Clinical, coding, or Revenue cycle background and/or experience in other industries with trannsferable skills
  • Certifications Preferred - Related professional certification (e.g. CIA, CPA, CISA, CPC, CPC-A, CCS, Epic, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Resolves edits and exceptions and coordinates the resolution of charge session edits on a timely basis.
  • Develops measures to track, trend and monitor charge sessions.
  • Provides consistent and clear feedback to the Internal Consultants.
  • Seeks ways to enhance professional competency through continuing education, participation in lectures, seminars committee meetings etc., relevant to the industry and creating and maintaining a career map.
