About The Position

Seeking Charge Nurse! Baptist Health Floyd, 2CD Neuro Intermediate Unit Part-time (24 Hours Weekly), Days (7am-7pm) Benefit Eligible $$ Sign On Bonus Eligible for Experienced Applicants Only! $$ Self-Scheduling! Job Duties: Responsible for acting as a resource nurse for the department. This is an entry-level leadership position responsible for the coordination of care on designated shifts. He/she will provide leadership to the staff members of the unit in the area of patient care. This position will work alongside the team and provide direct patient care while determining needed staffing fluctuations during shifts, responding to departmental concerns, address immediate staff issues and coordinate patient flow. This position has immediate oversight of employees while performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads. About the Unit: The Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) is a 41-bed unit specializing in both Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing. With excellent nurse-to-patient ratios (3–4:1), our team provides exceptional, high-quality care to adult patients. Our 41-bed unit is composed of 15 Neuro specific beds and 26 intermediate specific beds; we work as an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide high quality patient and staff centric care with the full support of our providers and support staff. Our team is supported with 24/7 leadership on the unit including two clinical coordinators available on dayshift & nightshift and a stoke coordinator. Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. Requirements

Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
BLS for healthcare provider required.
ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
One year of nursing experience required
Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
