About The Position

Charge Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg General Surgical Dept Bring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better +Together Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours: PRN Days 7:00 am – 7:00 pm- Rotating Weekends/Holidays Department highlights: · Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth · Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team · Provides Leadership and clinical expertise to support the Med/surg General surgical unit (36 bed unit. · The General Surgical Nurse provides care to a wide variety of post op patients including: complex gastro-intestinal and abdominal surgeries and plastics related wound care cases requiring ostomy, drain and wound vac management. · MAGNET facility · Level I Trauma Center Here’s What You Need · Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred · Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required · BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required · ACLS- within 90 Days required · CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire · 1-year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required · 2-years experience as a clinical nurse in Med surg General Surgical setting preferred In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will · demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. · maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients · possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism · have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems What You Will Do The Charge Nurse · will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team · support and actively participate in shared governance/councils · committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development. · evaluates the effectiveness of interventions · directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
