About The Position

The Charge RN for the Neonatal ICU/NICU at Texas Health Ft. Worth is a PRN position, working on an as-needed basis from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, including weekends and holiday coverage. The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth is a MAGNET and Texas 10-Step facility, recognized as the 'Best Place to Have a Baby' and designated as a Maternal Level IV facility. The NICU department is a regional referral center for high-risk deliveries, with over 600 NICU admissions per year and a 63-bed Level III Neonatal ICU/NICU. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day by a team of neonatologists, pediatric sub-specialists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and skilled registered nurses dedicated to providing experienced care to infants with special health needs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
  • One year experience as a clinical nursing (RN) in an acute care setting required.
  • Two years’ experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Two years current Neonatal ICU/NICU experience strongly preferred.
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required.
  • NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required.
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually within 90 days required.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
