Charge RN PCU
About The Position
As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
Requirements
- Graduate of a RN nursing program., upon hire
- Registered Nurse: NE, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 5 - months
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of PCU experience.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a mentor and coach.
- Assists with preparation of unit schedules.
- Assists in development and achievement of departmental budgets and goals.
- Assists with payroll activities such as monitoring timekeeping.
- Facilitates ongoing problem solving that utilizes Department PI to achieve desired quality outcomes.
- Conducts on-the-job training and education on topics such as quality and patient satisfaction.
- Serves as a clinical resource in area of specialty.
