Denver Health is recruiting for a mission-driven Charge RN to join their Inpatient Med Surg Correctional Care Medical Facility (CCMF). CCMF is a 19-bed medical/surgical unit dedicated to providing impartial, high-quality care to a unique patient population of contracted correctional patients. It functions as a universal specialty unit, caring for patients across various specialties including Psychiatry, Cardiology, OB/Gyn, Surgery, acute trauma, and chronic disease. This unit is suitable for new graduates seeking to learn and nurses looking to diversify their experience and advance their careers, offering both challenging and rewarding work. The Charge Nurse, operating with minimal direction, supervises nursing and support staff within this inpatient unit. The role requires adherence to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics (2015). The Charge Nurse applies critical thinking, evidence-based policies, procedures, guidelines, and competence to collaborate with the healthcare team, promoting excellence in patient safety and quality outcomes, and utilizes the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice.
