Learn About a Day in the life of a Med-Surg RN: Responsibilities The Charge Nurse—Medical/Surgical Unit has the leadership skills, authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. They are an extension of the leadership team (director, manager, nursing supervisor, clinical preceptor, and/or house supervisor) and must conduct themselves as such. Qualifications Job Requirements: Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Licensed as an RN in the State of New Jersey BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. At least one year of experience as a Staff RN on a Medical/Surgical unit is required Preferred Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in nursing Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing required
Licensed as an RN in the State of New Jersey
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
At least one year of experience as a Staff RN on a Medical/Surgical unit is required
