Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU. Learn About A Day in the Life of a Med Surg RN: Responsibilities The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes. This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination. This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services. The RN Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey or a valid Nursing Compacted License required.
  • Active certifications required(American Red Cross or American Heart Association issued):
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Advance Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS).
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required.
  • 2 years’ experience required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Certification, with successful completion of certification within 6 months of hire
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENCP), with successful completion of Certification within 6 months of hire
