About The Position

The Charge Nurse at Temecula Valley Day Surgery Center is responsible for overseeing the operating room (OR), Pre-Op, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) during their shift. This role emphasizes a patient-centered approach to care, ensuring optimal health outcomes through effective coordination of nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members. The Charge Nurse will provide leadership, support, and guidance to the healthcare team while adhering to established standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years RN experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) required.
• One (1) to three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
• Current Registered License with the State of California.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required.
• Knowledge of AAAHC, QAPI, ARON, and ASPAN standards.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with basic medical laws and ethics, such as consents and confidentiality.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, medical terminology, and medical abbreviations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Assume shift responsibility and accountability for the OR, Pre-Op, and PACU.
• Plan and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to patients and their families.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary team members to achieve safe and optimal health care outcomes.
• Direct and facilitate nursing staff in their duties.
• Support activities that align with the facility's vision, mission, and goals.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
