The Charge RN is responsible for oversight, monitoring, auditing and supporting nursing staff with completing assigned nursing related services for each client. They inform the clinical team about medical issues, compliance factors and are available for emergency medical situations. The chare RN will identify medical deficiencies with nursing compliance, medical safety checks and quality client care. The Charge RN provides all services under supervision of DON, ADON, CNO & COO, ARNP, MD and Clinical Director. The Charge RN is responsible for assisting with medical and history screens, providing routine nursing care, reviewing medication logs and assisting in overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the client in coordination with the attending practitioner. The Charge RN will be responsible for medical components of CRC Virtual IOP program (VIOP) and maintain collaboration and planning with DON and Corporate Clinical Director. 1. Assist in completing the following documentation: Admission Note, Nursing Assessment, Pre-Screen testing. 2. Transcribes Physician’s Orders and Implements all Medical Protocols as ordered. 3. Confers with and assists the practitioner(s). 4. Makes appropriate referrals. 5. Attends and participate in all “in-service” functions. 6. Assists with emergency situations and makes immediate referrals. 7. Provides documentation which reflects services for each client in accordance with licensure standards. 8. Maintains the Confidential nature of all clients and facility activities. 9. Maintains required Training and Continuing Education. 10. Maintains Standards of Ethical Conduct. 11. Complies with all Clean Recovery Centers Policies and Procedures. 12. Performs any other tasks outlined in accordance with 65D-30. 13. Meets with clients requesting to see the doctor to determine the urgency of their medical needs and expedite treatment as required. 14. Effectively communicates concerns about client health to the DON and follows up as necessary. 15. Under the supervision of the DON, assists in educating clients about health problems and medical care. 16. Facilitates medication education for new clients and for all other clients starting new medications. 17. Meets with therapists to provide information about client medical problems. 18. Assists the multidisciplinary treatment team with incorporating medical issues into treatment planning. 19. Takes verbal orders from the practitioner, documents them in the client record, and carries them out accurately and professionally. 20. Provides routine nursing care under the supervision of the practitioner and DON. 21. Participates in regular meetings with DON, Practitioners & CMO to discuss specific client problems. 22. Participate in regular department meetings and staff meetings. 23. Encourages efficient utilization of supplies and equipment to prevent waste. 24. Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility. 25. Keeps and shares records and equipment 26. Attends in-service education programs as assigned to learning new forms, procedures, developmental skills. 27. Has good work habits; gets things done in a timely, efficient manner with no excessive absences, is on time for scheduled shifts, and is prepared to begin work. 28. Functions as a team member and contributes positively to the morale of staff. 29. Performs additional duties, as deemed necessary, by supervisor. 30. Maintains up to date training in CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, Fire Safety, and other areas mandated by organizational policies. 31. Communicates effectively with other staff members and demonstrates the ability to work as a team. 32. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, responding positively to changing situations in the work setting. 33. Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress. 34. Completes all tasks with concern for work quality. 39. Assist with developing Policies and Procedures as appropriate 40. Assist the DON with the Infection Control Plan 41. Assist DON with Infection Control surveillance 42. Provide ongoing education and training to staff in relation to nursing responsibilities and evidence based practice. 43. Assist DON & ADON with verifying adequate nurse staffing coverage across identified sites. 44. Manage weekly day-shift and night-shift 24 hour nursing resource response rotation with other nurse leaders or designee. That is, nursing management rotation (day, evening & weekend) with DON, ADON or designee.
