Job Summary: We are seeking a Charge Nurse who will assume shift responsibility and accountability for the OR, PreOp, and PACU. Duties include but not limited to: Plan and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes. Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. Oversees the creation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and standards, and is responsible for Accreditation preparation and compliance with all standards for AAAHC, CMS and CDC/APIC.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in multi specialty nursing, Ambulatory Surgery Center OR, PACU and Pre-op experience required.
  • One to three years healthcare supervisory experience required.
  • Current Registered License with the State of California.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS required. PALS required within 30 days from date of hire.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all accreditation preparation and compliance with all standards for AAAHC, CMS and CDC/APIC, and State guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with Healthcare policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with basic medical laws and ethics, i.e. consents, confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures, medical terminology and medical abbreviations.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
  • Must have experience is standard office equipment. I.e. computers, copy machines, and telephones.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area (BSP), circumference and volume.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Familiar with QIPI and focus studies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in the field of nursing preferred.
  • CNOR preferred.
