About The Position

BHC Alhambra Hospital, located in Rosemead, California, is a 115-bed, private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital established in 1924. It serves children, adolescents, and adults, providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment. The hospital offers inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas. The Charge Nurse (R.N.) is responsible for prescribing, delegating, coordinating, and evaluating patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members, in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care and practices. This role also includes supervisory responsibilities for LVN/LPT and Program Specialists.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing.
• Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility.

Responsibilities

• Complete a comprehensive nursing assessment and patient interview according to policy within eight hours of patient’s admission to the unit.
• Document patient information and nursing care.
• Document and reassess any significant changes in the patient’s condition in compliance with facility’s policy.
• Delegate staff assignments based on patient needs.
• Makes daily patient care assignments based on individual staff’s level of competency.
• Supervises nursing staff to assure timely completion of patient activities of daily living (ADL’s).
