About The Position

Summary Job Description: Charge Nurse PRN Unit Overview: 4G, Cardiovascular, Thoracic Telemetry unit. 4G is a 20 bed telemetry unit. This unit specializes in post-op CABG patients, post-op cardiac surgery, CHF and moderate risk chest pain patients. The population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care. The patient population is transferred from ICU, ED and PACU. Shift: PRN, Nights Job Description: Under the direction of Unit Director, Clinical House Supervisor, +/or Designee Provides supervision of workflow and staff for a designated shift in overseeing the efficient functioning of the department Assures the provision of patient care, by addressing performance, risk management, patient, family and physician issues/concerns as appropriate. The Charge Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness. As a clinical nurse, the charge nurse spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc. Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required: Active Kentucky RN license. Basic Life Support. ACLS and/or other designated unit specific certification training/requirements. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or currently actively pursuing a BSN degree. (BSN degree must be completed within 5 years of starting program). Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse experience. Requirements

  • Active Kentucky RN license
  • Basic Life Support
  • ACLS and/or other designated unit specific certification training/requirements
