Charge Nurse Obstetrics
About The Position
The Charge Nurse works collaboratively with nursing leadership, providers, and support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department. Charge Nurse duties are listed below but remain open to shift based on the needs of the site. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Processes all patients according to the policies and guidelines established for the Medical Department. Ensures continuity of care is maintained in all aspects of patient care. Supports all quality assurance activities and infection control procedures according to established policies. • Assists in maintaining stock inventory and ordering supplies, as necessary. Attends department, committee meetings and other trainings as assigned. Maintains strict confidentiality Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Holds a current Connecticut Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse license
- Experienced and able to function effectively and professionally within an outpatient setting providing services to a special and diverse population group.
- CPR / BLS Certified
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nurse Manager with supervising nursing staff, offer guidance and support to support staff.
- Coordinating daily administrative duties, including schedules, clinical staff assignments, and patient care.
- Clinical duties (direct patient care, In-Basket, Quality Assurance, Vaccine/Supply management)
- Administrative duties (staffing, timecards, reviews, scheduling)
- Mentoring and training new clinical staff and providing support and guidance to all staff members.
