About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. This position involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, ensuring patients' comfort, safety, and well-being. The LVN is responsible for monitoring patient health, administering medications, and assisting with medical procedures, contributing to effective treatment plans. Additionally, the LVN serves as a vital communication link between patients, families, and the healthcare team, promoting a supportive and informative environment. Ultimately, the LVN helps improve patient outcomes by delivering compassionate, skilled nursing care and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

Requirements

  • Valid and current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in Texas.
  • Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proven experience in a clinical or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of nursing principles, patient care standards, and medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in specialized healthcare areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, or rehabilitation.
  • Additional certifications such as IV therapy or wound care.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient and team interactions.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with registered nurses and physicians to implement and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely in medical records to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with medical procedures and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or physician.
