About The Position

We are searching for a dedicated intensive care unit Charge Nurse to deliver vital care to seriously ill or injured patients in our ICU department. As a specialized nurse, you will be highly trained to treat patients who have suffered strokes, heart attacks, or undergone invasive surgery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to make a move up in leadership; we are serious about helping you enhance your skill-set. We are looking for someone who can communicate with our physicians about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results, and symptomatology. Additionally, you will be part of a close, very collaborative, and supportive Intensive Care team.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS (AHA) 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital, ICU/CVICU
  • setting, preferred.
  • Minimum of one year staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; Critical Care setting preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • CCRN (AACN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary supervisory figure for ICU nursing staff during shifts, ensuring optimal care delivery and efficient patient flow.
  • Assess patient conditions, prioritize patient needs based on severity, and allocate resources effectively to provide timely care.
  • Mentor and support nursing staff, providing guidance, conflict resolution, and performance feedback to maintain a cohesive work team.
  • Serve as a liaison between physicians, nurses, patients, and families, ensuring clear communication about treatment plans and patient status.
  • Ensure readiness to respond swiftly to medical emergencies, coordinating with medical teams for critical interventions.
  • Implement hospital policies, maintain patient safety standards, and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee the availability and proper use of medical supplies and equipment, coordinating with procurement and logistics as necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care practices and departmental efficiency.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environments.
  • Capability to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for prolonged periods.
