About The Position

Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Practice Nurse Act, plans, organizes, and supervises nursing staff; manages, reports on, and provides resources for direct patient care in major inpatient units and outpatient units as directed; and to perform related work as required. This class reports directly to a senior level hospital management staff member. Week-end rotation is required.

Requirements

• Possession of Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• BLS, ACLS Certification (AHA Only), Chemo Certification, PALS, NRP, FHM (unit specific).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise nursing staff.
• Manage and report on direct patient care resources.
• Ensure compliance with nursing processes and standards.
• Participate in the evaluation process and identify behaviors.
• Monitor critical practice indicators and guide improvement actions.
• Teach, coach, and mentor nursing staff.
• Manage time effectively and make sound decisions.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
