About The Position

As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit. Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education. Coaches to improve care Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department. Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel. Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care Demonstrates appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations

Requirements

  • Associates Of Science Nursing, upon hire
  • Two years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or Charge Nurse Experience
  • Registered Nurse: AZ, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, within 12 - months or Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, within 12 - months or Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course, within 12 - months

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing, upon hire
  • CVICU experience for Critical Care Charge Nurse
