About The Position

We are seeking an Emergency Room RN Supervisor, also referred to as an Emergency Department Charge Nurse or Emergency Services RN Supervisor. The ER RN Supervisor oversees daily nursing operations in the emergency services department, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient workflow, and compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols. ER RN Supervisor will supervise and support nursing staff, coordinate patient care with the healthcare team, manage critical incidents, and participate in quality improvement and emergency preparedness initiatives. Requirements

Current and valid state RN License.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting preferred.
In Paramedic Base Station ED, MICN, within 12 months of hire.
EDAP Certified Facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 & 2 within 30 days of hire.
Minimum of 4 hours of CEU in Pediatric Training Classes per year ENPC preferred.
Non-OB facilities: Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 30 days upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certificate within 12 months of hire and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily ER nursing operations in the emergency department, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient workflow
Supervise and support ER nursing staff, including scheduling and training
Coordinate patient care activities between nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members to optimize treatment and patient flow
Monitor compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards specific to emergency care
Manage critical incidents and assists in handling complex or high-acuity patient situations
Communicate with patients, families, and staff to address concerns and provide updates on care processes
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness planning for the department
