The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is a 10 bed critical care unit specializing in cardiac, intensive level care. Patients with severe heart diseases such as severe CAD, AMI, post arrest, cardiomyopathy, and arrhythmias that need continuous monitoring will be cared for on this unit. Assistive devices, including balloon pumps, impellas, and temporary pacemakers, as well as invasive monitoring devices like SWANs and a-lines are common on CICU. The CICU typically staffs with a one or two nurse to patient ratio to provide critical care. The patient population ranges from adults through geriatrics. BCLS and ACLS are/will be required. New graduate nurses are welcome.
