About The Position

Character Performers bring to life the world-famous Disney Characters. In this role, you will be performing before thousands of Guests each day. With a variety of shows, greetings, and parades throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, there are countless ways to share your talents! You will report to the Guest Experience Manager, Entertainment. The pay rate for this role in Florida is $19.55 per hour. Must have attended and completed a Disney Audition Must be at least 18 years of age Must have and maintain a valid US Driver’s License Must adhere to Disney Look Requirements Must be receptive to a high level of interaction with Guests of all ages in a fast-paced environment Work indoors and outdoors in varying or extreme temperatures and weather conditions Physical role that requires heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, prolonged standing, walking and kneeling Must be able to grip, grasp, and lift from 5 to 25 pounds Must be able to push and pull up to 40 pounds Character Performers may be required to handle chemicals and supplies for basic cleaning responsibilities Character Performers may be required to drive company vehicles Additionally, all performers, including Disney Character Look-Alikes, dancers, movers, stilt-walkers, and puppeteers will perform in Character Greetings and Sightings as fully costumed Disney Characters in our Parks and Resorts. Portray specific costumed character roles, while practicing character integrity, within a specified height range based on approval Perform atmosphere sets with our Guests, where you may pose for photographs, interact with Guests of all ages, and sign autographs Work indoors and outdoors, in all types of weather and varying or extreme temperatures Perform choreographed routines or extended physical activities (i.e. dance parties) Performer at various heights and in enclosed/dark spaces You may be around performers in various stages of dress Wear a variety of sculpted costumes with limited visibility that include large torsos, heads, and feet Work a variety of shifts in many different locations that may be during the overnight hours, including holidays and weekend
Requirements
- Must have attended and completed a Disney Audition
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have and maintain a valid US Driver’s License
