The Chapter Strategy & Operations Specialist serves as a key operational leader within SCTE’s national chapter network. This role provides operational leadership across SCTE’s chapter network, overseeing core programs, strengthening governance alignment, and ensuring consistent execution standards. Acting as a trusted operational partner to chapter officers, the Specialist ensures chapters are equipped with the training, resources, recognition programs, and compliance guidance necessary to operate effectively and consistently. This position provides operational leadership and continuous improvement across chapter programs while supporting a high standard of service and accountability throughout the network. This role sits at the center of SCTE’s chapter network, partnering with volunteer leaders across the country to strengthen chapter operations, governance alignment, and member engagement. You will lead the execution of recognition programs, facilitate officer training, and ensure governance standards are upheld while continuously improving the operational systems that support chapter success. Your work will directly influence chapter effectiveness and contribute to a consistent, high-quality member experience nationwide. Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in association operations, chapter management, volunteer engagement, or comparable program leadership environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in administering complex operational programs involving governance tracking, compliance cycles, or structured recognition initiatives.
  • Proven ability to independently manage moderately complex workflows with minimal guidance, exercising sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Experience identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing process improvements within a defined functional scope.
  • Proficiency using Salesforce or comparable CRM systems for case management, reporting, and operational data tracking.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, including leading officer trainings, working groups, or stakeholder sessions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead day-to-day execution of chapter operations, ensuring consistent service delivery, timely resolution of officer inquiries, and adherence to defined governance standards.
  • Lead administration of the Chapter Awards and recognition programs, managing timelines, validating submissions, ensuring data integrity, and delivering executive-ready reporting.
  • Oversee chapter governance tracking and annual reporting cycles, proactively identifying risk patterns, recurring compliance gaps, and operational friction; recommend and implement process improvements within defined scope.
  • Independently scope, prioritize, and manage moderately complex operational initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, competing deadlines, and evolving requirements.
  • Facilitate officer onboarding, leadership trainings, and working group sessions with confidence, reinforcing governance expectations and operational best practices.
  • Strengthen and refine chapter toolkits, handbooks, templates, and knowledge resources to improve usability, clarity, and operational consistency across the network.
  • Analyze service metrics and support trends within Salesforce to identify efficiency opportunities and recommend workflow enhancements.
  • Lead operational planning and execution of chapter leadership events and engagement initiatives, ensuring clear communication, documentation accuracy, and structured follow-through.
  • Travel to chapter events (up to 25%) to provide operational leadership, reinforce governance alignment, and strengthen volunteer effectiveness.
  • Serve as a functional subject matter resource within the department for chapter operations processes and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
