About The Position

This position seeks to hire students for the 2024-2025 academic year who have a work-study award. Student callers are vital to the success of fundraising at Chapman and to maintaining strong relationships with alumni and parents. Students are the best ambassadors to speak about the Chapman experience – because they’re living it! As a student caller through our Phonathon program, you are making a difference by fundraising for the Chapman Fund, which supports student scholarships and the most pressing needs of the Chapman community. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, a problem-solving mentality, the ability to think strategically in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine affinity for Chapman. Working on the Phonathon team is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in communication, fundraising, and public relations.

Be able to work during the tentative program hours: Between Monday-Thursday: 10-1pm 4-7pm
Attend the following mandatory trainings: Saturday, February 15 (8-5pm) Saturday, March 8 (8-5pm)

Responsibilities

Serve as an ambassador to Chapman University by establishing an open and engaging line of communication between the university and its supporters.
Call constituents (alumni, parents, and friends of Chapman) to update demographic information, bond with constituents and ask for advice, and solicit constituents to support the Chapman Fund.
Commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week and a maximum of 9 hours per week.
Handle personal information with extreme confidentiality.
Have a good time and make new friends.
