About The Position

General Summary Provides spiritual care and guidance to patients, families and staff and performs or arranges for religious services to meet patient needs. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: Provides direct spiritual care to patients/families/caregivers/staff, when needed and assessed. Participates in a spiritual assessment of the patient/family/caregivers, as indicated. Facilitates the development of a plan of care to meet the identified spiritual needs in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team. Serves as liaison to community chaplains and faith community leaders, as indicated. Documents all patient/family/caregiver contacts and provides additional written, pertinent information as indicated. Participates in patient care conference and interdisciplinary team meetings. Provides consultation, education and support to the interdisciplinary team on spiritual care. Provides for funeral or memorial services or other services as requested by patient/families. Provides bereavement support. Works across region for the department when needed for coverage. Requirements

Bachelors Degree from an accredited school Required
Masters Degree from an accredited seminary or school of theology Preferred
2 years Relevant experience. Required
Ordained/Endorsed by recognized religious body/proper ecclesiastical authority. Upon Hire Required
Certified (or eligible) Chaplain by Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) Upon Hire Preferred or NACC, NAJC Upon Hire Preferred
Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology Upon Hire Preferred
Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary team.
Comfort in an interfaith setting.
Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values.
Ability to network with community faith group leaders
