About The Position

As our Chaplain, you will be a trusted source of comfort, strength, and inspiration—providing spiritual care, emotional support, and interfaith guidance to residents and families. You’ll walk alongside our residents offering peace, purpose, and connection in a compassionate environment that respects and embraces all faith traditions.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in a pastoral ministry with significant time spent working with the elderly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human service field and Master of Divinity Degree or equivalent.
  • Must be ordained and in good standing with one's ecclesiastical body.
  • Must be duly ordained in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan.

Nice To Haves

  • Association of Professional Chaplains certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead worship and spiritual growth opportunities that cater to all faith traditions.
  • Embracing and respecting diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, fostering inclusivity.
  • Host regular religious services for residents to engage in.
  • Perform sacred rites such as penance, communion (Holy Eucharist), funerals, and other ceremonies upon request.
  • Provide spiritual guidance to residents and staff during times of crisis, grief, or loss, offering comfort when needed.
  • Support residents at the end of life, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain and submit records of pastoral activities and ensure relevant information is included in resident medical records.
  • Participate in committees and work groups as assigned to contribute to the overall community wellbeing.
