About The Position

Provides spiritual care to terminally ill patients and their families/caregivers. The chaplain will provide ministry in crises, participate in an on-call rotation, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care, attend IDT meetings, and spiritually/emotionally support HOC team members. Chaplain will meet all Medicare regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Master of Divinity degree or similar (MA Theology, MDiv Pastoral Care for example).
  • Require three units of CPE through an accredited center, with the commitment to complete the fourth unit and meet with the Professional Chaplaincy Certifying Committee within three years of date of hire. (APC, NACC, and NAJC are the approved certifying bodies.)

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Board Certification through APC, NACC, or NAJC.
  • 3-4 years of desired professional experience, healthcare chaplaincy preferred.
  • 2 years of experience desired outside of CPE training.

Responsibilities

  • Visits patients/families/caregivers to provide pastoral ministry
  • Provides ministry in crises
  • Successfully manages time for patient care in accordance with regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Is flexible and takes initiative in providing care
  • Participates in on-call as appropriate
  • Functions as a positive member of the chaplain team
