Chaplain
About The Position
Provide religious spiritual care and counsel for emotional distress to patients, their families, as well as to hospital personnel students and volunteers with attention to diverse spiritual orientations and cultures. This spiritual/bereavement work is done either in person at the patients’ home or over the telephone. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members including nurse case managers, aides, social workers, bereavement coordinators, nurse practitioners, and hospice medical directors. Participate in biweekly IDG meetings. Participate in and or conduct liturgical worship services and celebrations. Initiate plan and implement improvements to care delivery. Provide education and consultation relevant to religion and health. Provide consultation regarding ethical issues in patient care. Serve as a resource person for Clinical Pastoral Education Interns and Residents and other students. This is a dual role including both chaplain/spiritual support and as Bereavement Coordinator.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year Applicable Experience
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Family Care Safety Registry - Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services
- Master's Degree - Divinity
